Generally, electronic levels are more accurate than bubble levels for the following reasons:
Working Principle: Electronic Level: Electronic levels have extremely high precision and are mainly divided into two types: inductive and capacitive. In the inductive type, when the base tilts
due to the inclined workpiece to be measured, the internal pendulum moves, causing a voltage change in the induction coil, and the inclination is measured through this voltage change; in
the capacitive type, a circular pendulum freely hangs on a thin wire. When it is level, the capacitances on both sides are equal. When it is not level, the pendulum deviates from the center,
resulting in capacitance changes at the two levels, thereby measuring the angle deviating from the level .
Bubble Level: It is a square universal angle measuring instrument that uses the principle of liquid flow and liquid level to directly display the small inclination angle relative to the horizontal
and vertical positions with a level bubble. When the level is placed on a non-horizontal surface, the liquid flows, and the bubble moves upward. The inclination direction and angle of the
measured surface are judged by observing the position of the bubble .
Precision Aspect: Electronic Level: Usually, it has a relatively high precision. The measurement precision of some high-precision electronic levels can reach 0.001° or even higher, and it can
detect very small angle changes .
Bubble Level: Generally, the precision is relatively low. The common precision of bubble levels is about 0.02 - 0.05°. For example, when measuring the straightness of machine tool guide
rails, electronic levels can more accurately reflect the small inclination and unevenness of the guide rails, while bubble levels may not be able to detect some small angle deviations .
Impact of External Environment: Electronic Level: It is relatively less affected by external environmental factors (such as temperature, vibration, magnetic field, etc.). The internal electronic
components and sensors are usually specially designed and calibrated to resist environmental interference to a certain extent and maintain the stability and accuracy of measurement .
Bubble Level: The stability of the bubble is easily affected by factors such as environmental temperature changes and vibrations. Temperature changes may cause the liquid to expand
and contract thermally, thereby changing the size and position of the bubble; vibrations may cause the bubble to shake, affecting the accuracy of the reading. In complex environmental
conditions such as construction sites, the advantages of electronic levels are more obvious .
Reading Method: Electronic Level: The measurement result can be directly read through the digital display screen. The reading is intuitive and clear, and there is no human reading error .
Bubble Level: It is necessary to judge the angle by observing the position of the level bubble in the glass tube. The reading may be affected by factors such as the resolution of the human
eye, the observation angle, and the light conditions, and it is prone to reading errors.
